The High Bridge.
The obvious highlight is the High Bridge, originally built in 1848 (35 years before the Brooklyn Bridge), and only recently reopened as a pedestrian walkway (2015).

It was built in 1848 as an aqueduct, to carry water from upstate New York, through the Bronx, into Manhattan.
The significance of the High Bridge may no longer be to serve as a conduit but it still brings two boroughs together.
