New Delhi: Dairy major Amul has hiked the price of milk sold in the Delhi-NCR region by Rs2 per litre, close on the heels of Mother Dairy effecting an increase. The MRP of a 500 ml pack of Amul Gold, Amul Shakti, Amul Taza and Amul Diamond variety in the Ahmedabad market will be revised upwards to Rs 27, Rs 25, Rs 21 and Rs 28 respectively. Price of Mother Dairy cow milk too has been raised by Rs 3 per litre to Rs 47 per litre.
The revised price of 500 millilitre (ml) pack of 'Amul Gold' in Ahmedabad will be Rs 27, 'Amul Shakti' at Rs 25, 'Amul Taaza' at Rs 21 and 'Amul Diamond' at Rs 28. After this recent increase, the Amul Diamond (premium quality) will now cost Rs 50 per litre from Rs 48 per litre earlier, while Amul Gold (full cream milk) price has been raised to Rs 48 per litre. "Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets dairy products under Amul brand, has decided to revise the milk prices by Rs 2 per litre being sold in Ahmedabad and Saurashtra markets of Gujarat, Delhi NCR, West Bengal, Mumbai and Maharashtra from December 15, 2019," the cooperative said in a statement. However, there will be no change in price of Amul Shakti.
